Governor Beshear Appoints a New
Member to NKU's Board of Regents

Sept. 9, 2020 —  ɫƵ welcomes Ken Perry to its Board of Regents. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear appointed Perry, who lives in Bellevue, KY, to a six-year term last week.

“I am honored to join NKU’s Board of Regents. ɫƵ is a significant asset to the region. Born and raised in Campbell County, I am looking forward to making a positive impact upon the university over the next six years,” said Perry, who is managing director and chairman of Ken Perry Realty, Inc.

NKU’s Board of Regents consists of 11 members including Chairman Lee Scheben, Vice Chairman Andrá Ward, Secretary Normand Desmarais, Faculty Regent Michael Baranowski, Staff Regent David Bauer, Regent Rich Boehne, Student Regent Lauren Goodwin, Regent Ashley Himes, Regent Dennis Repenning and Regent Gregory Shumate. Perry replaces Terry Mann, whose term has expired. 

“We are pleased to welcome Ken to our ranks. Growing up in Campbell County, his insights will be valuable as we govern ɫƵ,” said Chairman Scheben.

Perry graduated from the Naval Nuclear Power Program and was in charge of the nuclear reactor aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. After six years serving in the military, he returned to Kentucky and founded Ken Perry Realty, Inc. It includes Ken Perry Realty, a firm split between sale and construction of single-family residences, small commercial land and building developments, and land development for residential communities. Perry also started an online real estate school titled the Perry Real Estate College, which currently services Kentucky and Tennessee but will soon expand into South Carolina and 17 other states.

“With our Success by Design Strategic Framework, NKU is poised to become even more of a student-ready, regionally engaged university,” said NKU President Ashish Vaidya. “This is an exciting time for our university, and I look forward to working with Regent Perry.”

In addition to his appointment on NKU’s Board of Regents, Perry is active in his industry and community. He has served on the Northern Kentucky Multiple Listing Service Board of Directors, the First Alliance Life Insurance Corporation advisory board and as the past president of the Re/Max Brokers Council. Perry has also served on two consecutive four-year terms as Commissioner of the Kentucky Real Estate Commission from 2005-2013. His term on NKU’s Board of Regents will expire on June 30, 2026.
