Nov. 16, 2020 — ɫƵ’s Haile/US Bank College of Business and Western & Southern Financial Group invite area companies and NKU alumni to keep students moving forward in their studies and making connections at its inaugural Momentum Summit on Nov. 17.
The summit connects students with experienced professionals and provides them with insights across a variety of business sectors. Led by business leaders from Western & Southern, Kroger, Procter & Gamble Co. and FC Cincinnati, the summit features seven interactive panel discussions, from being successful as an intern to landing a job in the pandemic.
“Our students have felt anxiety and frustration with the lack of career opportunities during this unusual year. Along with their lives being upended abruptly, many lost their internships or struggled to find open positions,” said Emma Walker, director of Business Experience at ɫƵ. “We’re in it for the long haul here at ɫƵ, and that’s the scope of this event. Even as students struggle to see the light at the end of the tunnel during the pandemic, this event will reassure them and give them the courage to persist to graduation and be prepared to start their careers.”
To help motivate students to complete their degrees, Haile/US Bank College of Business and Western & Southern are announcing scholarships for two students attending the event. Western & Southern has been a key supporter of the College of Business over the years, supporting the college’s annual Business Week and offering hands-on learning opportunities to students.
“We are very excited to sponsor and support the College of Business’ Momentum Summit,” said Abbie Stein, campus recruiter at Western & Southern Financial Group. “The topics discussed will provide students with a wide range of knowledge and skills that aren’t always gained in the classroom, and prepare them for success.”
The Momentum Summit is free and open to all students. Local employers and NKU alumni are invited to join the conversations and participate in networking opportunities with students. To learn more and register, visit its website.
