WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

NKU’s School of Nursing offers two types of post-graduate certificate programs:  the Post-Master's of Science in Nursing certificate and the Nurse Practitioner Advancement certificate. Both are geared toward flexibility for the working nurse, with part-time and . Graduates of the programs are qualified to take the certification exam for their nursing specialty.

CAREER PATHS

The NKU School of Nursing post-graduate certification programs equip working nurses for more specialized roles, such as:

  • Adult-Gero Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (Family or Adult-Gero)
  • Psychiatric Mental Health (across the lifespan) Nurse Practitioner

Accreditation

The baccalaureate degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing, postgraduate APRN certificate and Post Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ()

PRACTICUM OPPORTUNITIES

Clinical practica are an integral component of the MSN degree program and involve student placements in a variety of health care facilities.
