Hi everybody. Welcome to the Honors College! I’m Dr. Zlatkin. I’ve taught in Honors since 2014 and I love teaching here. I am a dog person. I have two part border collies, Book and Aoife. I live in the Westside of Covington Ky not too far from the Historic Linden Grove Cemetery and Arboretum. I enjoy being outside, hiking (otherwise known as “dog walking”), gardening, and I love a good road trip that ends at a campfire. Also, Schitt’s Creek makes me laugh.

I am fascinated by the history of medicine, especially regarding gender, and my more recent interest in the relationship between emotional and cognitive processing is an outgrowth of that research.

I love teaching in Honors because I love learning new things and then learning them over again from a different perspective... and Honors is a good place for that kind of learning. There’s so much energy in research, especially when you’re able to pursue a question that is your own hard question, a question that will not let you go or that you cannot put down… so you hold the question in mind, turn it this way, then that, not knowing what is on the other side, reading along the way. There is energy in that process and I enjoy making room for that energy in my classroom and helping students to harness its power.

I am excited to be here and I am excited to meet you and your questions.
